Your new pay after a raise or promotion
Calculate your new salary after a percentage raise, and how much extra that is per month and per year.
new salary = current salary × (1 + raise %)
My raise is a flat amount, not a percentage — how do I use this?
Divide the flat raise amount by your current salary to get the equivalent percentage, then enter that. For example, a RM500 raise on a RM6,000 salary is about 8.3%.
Does the new salary shown account for tax?
No — this is your new gross salary. A raise doesn't take home 1:1 since it can push more of your income into higher tax and EPF bands; check Take-home pay with the new figure to see the real difference.
