Frequently asked questions

Why does this use simple interest instead of compound interest?
A single fixed deposit term pays interest on the original principal for that term, not compounding within it — compounding only happens if you reinvest the matured amount (principal + interest) into a new FD term.

What if I withdraw before maturity?
Most banks charge a penalty or pay a reduced rate for early withdrawal — this calculator assumes you hold the deposit for the full tenure entered.
