Assumptions

• Rates refresh automatically from a free feed (Frankfurter, using ECB reference rates) at most once every 12 hours, and fall back to a fixed approximate rate if you're offline or the feed is unavailable.
• Does not include bank spreads, transfer fees, or card conversion markups — the rate you actually get from a bank or provider will differ.

How current is this rate?
It refreshes from a live feed automatically, at most once every 12 hours (the underlying ECB data itself is only published once per banking day, so "live" here means "as current as that daily publish," not real-time tick-by-tick).

What happens if I'm offline?
The calculator falls back to a fixed approximate rate rather than failing outright — adjust it manually if you know the current rate and need precision.
