See your updated CGPA after this semester

CGPA calculator

Calculate your updated cumulative GPA (CGPA) by combining your current CGPA with this semester's grades and credit hours.

Formula

new CGPA = (current CGPA × completed credit hours + this semester's GPA × this semester's credit hours) ÷ total credit hours

Assumptions

Frequently asked questions

What if my school uses a different GPA scale?
This assumes a 4.0 scale. If your institution uses a 4.3, 4.33, or 5.0 scale instead, the same weighted-average formula still applies — just use your scale's maximum instead of 4.0 when entering values.

Does this account for repeated or failed courses?
No — it treats your current CGPA and credit hours as a single combined figure. If your institution recalculates CGPA differently when a course is repeated (e.g. replacing rather than averaging the grade), this calculator won't reflect that nuance.
