Estimate your daily calorie needs
Estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula.
BMR (Mifflin-St Jeor) = 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age + (5 if male, −161 if female) · TDEE = BMR × activity multiplier
What's the difference between BMR and TDEE?
BMR is the calories your body burns at complete rest just to function. TDEE adds in the calories burned from daily activity and exercise — it's the number to use for planning food intake.
How do I use TDEE for weight loss or gain?
Eating below your TDEE tends to produce weight loss over time, and eating above it tends to produce weight gain — but this calculator only estimates the maintenance number, not a target for you.
